What We Believe

Perhaps St. Paul’s United Methodist Church’s Mission statement best expresses our beliefs:

“We are called to be a community of generosity and love where we invite others to join us in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ for the good of the world.”

This mission statement communicates our existence as born out of a call from God that is marked by the values of generosity and love guiding all of our ministries, practices and teachings. Together, we are on a journey of becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. None of us have arrived at a place of perfect discipleship. We engage in this journey, not primarily for ourselves, but so we can make a difference of goodness in the world.

This mission is lived out through our opportunities for discipleship in worship, small groups, missional outreach opportunities and community gatherings. Our children and youth are invited to take steps in their journey of faith in age appropriate classes. Our oldest friends are cared for in activities that nurture the need for Christian companionship.

St. Paul’s UMC is a church in the United Methodist tradition and as such our doctrine is in line with the wider United Methodist Church. If you would like to know more about the United Methodist Church’s history, structure, beliefs and practices, please visit www.umc.org.
