A more senior friend of mine once told me that, “Getting old is not for wimps.” He was right. The senior adult members at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church aren’t wimps! We’re active, loving, caring, learning and growing spiritually every day. Over a hundred seniors exercise in our Life Center three time a week. We attend Sunday worship, Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday nights and five different Sunday School classes. There are prayer groups that meet regularly. We have seniors that are trained home visitors and hospital visitors. We offer training classes and seminars on a broad range of topics of interest to seniors. There are five Red Hat groups for the ladies. Bible study classes, support groups, choirs and other musical groups are available. We have an active group of parish nurses who provide a blood pressure clinic, flu shot clinic and health education programs of interest to our entire congregation and community. We even have a hiking club for seniors and we take tours throughout Southern Arizona. Trips to other parts of the United States and the world are offered. St. Paul’s senior adult members endeavor to live by and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. We live active lives that place us in service to others. We welcome you to join us. Caring can be the door through which we enter a world of new
relationships and a new life. No matter if we can no longer do the
things we were once able to do, for most of us, there is something we can do:
PRAY. And caring in this way or any way makes a difference in people's
lives - your own and the one you are ministering to. St. Paul's Lay Care Ministries include the following
opportunities:
