Sunday, August 8, is the “kick-off” for our new school year at St. Paul’s. At the 9:30 am service, all children and youth will begin in the Sanctuary for worship and children’s sermon, then will exit with their teachers for Sunday School. There will also be a Backpack Blessing – bring your school backpack to church for a blessing for this school year.

Then on Sunday, August 15, we celebrate Promotion Sunday and Commissioning Sunday. At the 9:30 am service, children will be introduced to their new grades. Third graders will be presented with their own Bibles. Additionally, we invite anyone involved in our children’s, youth, and family ministries to join us in worship for a prayerful moment of commissioning for the year ahead. Anyone who teaches a Bible study, adult Sunday School class, or any other educational ministry at the church is invited as well. Commissioning will take place at all three services.

Sunday, September 12 is 3rd Grade Bible Presentation. It is a tradition at St. Paul’s to present all 3rd grade children with Bibles of their very own. If your child is an older child who has not yet participated in this tradition, we would love to include them as well. We encourage you to attend worship with your child and to invite grandparents and/or any other important people in your child’s life. Please email Meredith Joubert, Director of Family Ministries, by August 12 so that we may personalize your child’s Bible. Meredith’s email is meredith_joubert@stpaulsumctucson.net.
