Harp

“I am Wonderful” is open to youth ages 6 and above.  It is not necessary for a participant to own a harp to join this group.  While several harp choir members have graduated to a pedal harp, St. Paul’s provides celtic harps to each participant.  Learning to play the harp is only one of the goals of this choir.  Perhaps the primary goal of this group is that each participant understand that he/she is an amazing child of God, created to share his/her gifts for the good of the world.

In addition to the “I am Wonderful” harp choir, St. Paul’s is pleased to have Dr. Carrol McLaughlin, professor of Harp at the University of Arizona on our church staff as Minister of Worship and the Fine Arts.  Each month, Dr. McLaughlin blesses us with a musical work that is premiered at St. Paul’s during worship.  Previous original compositions have been performed by the “I am Wonderful” harp choir, Dr. Brian Luce, professor of Flute, HarpFusion, in addition to many other talented musicians from around the world.
