A Stretching and Strengthening Class led by Sam Freeman, Jr, meets every Mon., Wed., & Fri. in the Life Center at 9:00 AM. Donation: $1.00.
The Blood Pressure Clinic, run by our Parish Nurses, is available between services in Brummet Hall on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
St. Paul’s provides both a Telecare Ministry and a Friendly Visitors Ministry. Both of these services provide care and fellowship for home-bound, or residential care members of St. Paul’s. For information on either ministry, call Jim Moffett at St. Paul’s.
Once a week at 10:00 AM, volunteers provide a Bible study class at 100 Palms Care Facility, across Broadway from St. Paul’s. Contact Betty Ott at 886-2276 for more information.

The Hike for May–Our Hike for Wednesday May 8th will be across the top of Mt. Lemmon and down the north face of the mountain to the fire look out trail. This is an incredibly beautiful hike with a short section of steep up hill on the return. We’ll take it slow and easy. Bring at least 2 liters of water, a camera, sun block, a hat and wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes. We’ll leave from Brummet Hall Promptly at 8:30 AM. We’ll eat lunch at the Saw Mill Inn in Summer Haven—$10—$12. Van fee: $8.00. Call the office to register by Monday, May 6th. Be sure to leave your phone number. We’ll return to the church by 3:00 PM.
What Can You Expect on A Walk to Emmaus?–If you have not participated in a Walk to Emmaus, first read Luke 23: 13-35. The Walk to Emmaus is a world wide movement among Christian churches. The Walk is a 72 hour retreat designed to prepare men and women for leadership in their churches. The Walk begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday and ends about 8:00 PM on Sunday. Some of the things you will experience on your walk include the following: a reading of the Stations of the Cross and talks that reveal God’s grace. You will sing, pray, worship and discuss study topics with others on the Walk. You will have delicious meals and a banquet You will attend a candlelight worship service and be served Holy Communion each day of the walk. You will have opportunities to meet privately with members of the clergy. You will receive the gift of a Bible, notes, letters and other symbols of love. You will meet and become a member of the Southern Arizona Emmaus Community. You will have an opportunity to share with the Emmaus Community what your Walk has meant to you. Nothing about Emmaus is secret or exclusive. Those who have been on a Walk will assure you that there are no secrets, but there sure are surprises! Savvy Seniors Tour for May to the Holy Trinity Monastery-Spring Festival of Art–Our tour for Saturday, May11th will be to the arts and crafts fair at the Holy Trinity Monastery in St. David—about an hour from Tucson. Meet at Brummet Hall promptly at 8:45 AM. Bring a hat, sun glasses, water and comfortable shoes. We will return by mid-afternoon. Van fee: $8.00. You can purchase a good lunch at the fair. Movie for April Wed., May 15th–The movie for May will be “The Magic of Belle Isle” starring Morgan Freeman. This is the story of an alcoholic writer of western novels and his recovery with the help of a young girl. A warm and inspiring film.

Hike for June–Our hike for Wednesday, June 12 is one of the premier hikes in Southern Arizona. We’ll do the Aspen Loop on Mt. Lemmon. This is a 4 mike hike with a lot of up—hill hiking. Much of the hike is along a stream. If you are in good condition, this is a hike for you. Bring at least a liter and a half of water, a lunch, sun block and insect repellant. We will leave from Brummet Hall at 8:00 AM. Call the office to register. Be sure to leave your phone number. Van fee is $8. This is a beautiful hike, but it is challenging. Last year we did it in the clouds and rain. Be prepared for some beautiful wild flowers.
Special Tour to Silver City, NM for St. Paul’s Seniors–Monday, September 16th through Saturday, September 20 there will be a tour to Silver City , New Mexico. We will drive to Silver City on September 16 and tour the area the 17th—the 19th and then drive back to the church on the Friday, September 20st. It is only about 200 miles to Silver City, but while there, we will drive to several sites. There will be opportunities for hiking, sight seeing, shopping, and visiting a museum.
We will stay at the Rodeway Inn in Silver City. All rooms have two beds and are non-smoking rooms. The room cost is $59.95 per night with an 18% tax. We’ll eat at restaurants in the area. The estimated cost for meals is $224 for a couple and $112 for a single person. There will be a charge for gas of $30 per person. The estimated total cost for a couple is $537 and $402 for a single person.
We will take two vans so there will be plenty of room in each van. Call the office to register by Monday, September 9th. Limit 12 people.

Savvy Seniors Tour for June–Our tour for Wednesday, June 26th will be our annual tour to the top of Mt. Lemmon. We will stop along the way for sight seeing, walk up and look at the observatory, have lunch at the saw Mill Inn and then, for those who wish to, go ride the ski lift to the top of the ski run. Call the office to register by Monday, June 24. Van fee $8.00. Lunch approximately $12.00. We’ll leave from Brummet Hall at 9;00 AM.
Movie for June–Our film for June will be Seven Years in Tibet staring Brad Pitt. This is a great story set prior to and during WWII in India and Tibet. It involves the relationship between an Austrian and the young Dali Llama.
