What to Expect

Pastors Billy Still & Angie McCarty

When you choose to worship at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church you can expect to be met by smiling faces who will warmly welcome you. At each worship service you can expect to encounter Christ through music, prayer, scripture reading and the sermon. You can expect your children to never be turned away because they move around or make noise. We are happy to have you and your children in every area of the life of the church.

You can also rest assured that we receive you as you are comfortable. We will not ask you to stand up and identify yourself as a visitor. If your child is not comfortable attending a Sunday school class, he/she is welcome to stay with you in worship. If you want to wait a few weeks before giving us your contact information, please wait until you’re ready.

Simply put, you can expect to be welcomed into an atmosphere of generosity and love where together we can ask the deepest questions of faith along our journey in life.

What people are saying…

“An open invitation to feel welcome…. after a lifetime of being a “maybe once a year for Christmas or Easter” church attendee, and trying various churches and denominations only to feel uncomfortable at best, a year and a half ago, following Jack’s baptism, I found myself an every Sunday kind of guy at St Pauls United Methodist, Broadway, just east of Pantano in Tucson. Those of you who know me know I’m not “churchy” and I’ve built, and continue to build, a pretty lengthy sin list with no false regret for having fun in life. Imagine a community where personal imperfections, opposing political views, varying lifestyles and just different opinions are seen not as divisive but as an opportunity to listen and learn about someone else’s perspective as well as your own. Imagine a community where you are welcomed whether you attend to practice your faith, find your faith, or even question your faith. Imagine a place where you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in and feel comfortable in your own skin for being in church for whatever your own personal reason is for being there because the community itself is comfortable in its own skin. No need to imagine……..Billy Still, Angie McCarty and Hal Cowart bring just such a place to life every Sunday and all days in between. Consider this my personal invitation to be welcomed. Too good to not share. To those of you who, like me, joked that the walls of a church would shudder at your presence, let me know when you will give this a try and I will personally be there to hold up the walls :-) ”   –Gary Fletcher
