Rev. Hal Cowart -

My official title is Minister of Pastoral Care and Spiritual Formation. I am blessed to be in this capacity at St. Paul's.  My usual times in the office are Monday and Tuesday of each week and other times as needed.

I am delighted to be a part of this excellent and dynamic ministry. As District Superintendent before I retired, I always looked forward to the times I was able to worship at St. Paul’s. I have already begun to make hospital calls and visits in homes. I love the opportunity to visit with folk and offer pastoral care to them.  

I really appreciate the vision statement of St. Paul’s that “we are a community of generosity and love that invites others to join us in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ for the good of the world.”

In addition to visitation, I want to help persons grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through spiritual formation/transformation.  Spiritual formation is a process that goes on all of our lives. I’d like to help us be intentional about it and discover some of the disciplines of the faith that can be helpful in that process.
